How is my Physical Therapy Treatment Funded?

Alberta Health Services

At The Grange Physical Therapy , an assessment and treatment is included with your first paid visit. Since the Grange location currently does not have funding with Alberta Health Services, we are not able to offer any government funded treatments at this time.  We therefore offer a discounted rate to those who have suffered a fracture or had surgery that would normally qualify for funding with Alberta Health Services.

Our associate clinic, Callingwood Physical Therapy  is contracted to Alberta Health Services. Therefore, all assessments will be covered by government funding. If you have suffered a fracture or required surgery, most will also qualify for 6 additional government funded treatments. Additional funding may also be available for clients who receive certain social assistance or meet specific low income criteria.

If you have injured yourself while at work, most companies will have insurance through the Workers’ Compensation Board, who will then cover your initial assessment and future treatments. The number and duration of treatments will depend on your injury.

If you have been involved in a motor vehicle accident, you may be covered for treatments from your motor vehicle accident insurance company for up to 2 years from the date of the accident. Please note that health
claims will not affect your premiums.

Direct Billing

We are able to offer direct billing to many private insurance companies to help you access your coverage for physical therapy, massage therapy, and acupuncture services.

We direct bill to many extended health benefit plans, such as Blue Cross, Great West Life, Johnsons, Sunlife, Green Shield, Standard Life, Chambers of Commerce and groups that are a part of Telus Assure.
